TotalBiscuit died today. Once again I find myself mourning for someone I didn't know. It is out of frustration and anger and incredible sadness that I need to vent out to my tiny corner of the internet, so please bear with me. The only way I know how is to sing the praises of a man I admired deeply. I have watched Totalbiscuit's content for nearly 10 years, from Warcraft to Terraria to innumerable Starcraft commentaries. I regret that I never had the chance to meet him personally, even just as a fan. Not only did I enjoy, but admired everything he produced, and it was because of his content that I found and played games I love the most and that I would never have thought of even looking at. He was a constant source of inspiration and an admirable standard for quality. His personal and professional work ethic was legendary and his pure unadulterated passion for video games and the video game industry was monumental. The fact the content someone produced can affect those who watched it in such a way to elicit this type of emotional response from strangers is testament to the love, creativity, and passion that was embedded into everything he did. Without a doubt in my mind, I believe the Youtube and the gaming community and industry at large were made better because of John Bain. Even when faced with cancer, a most vile and cruel disease, TB faced it publicly with the bravery and optimism and composure and charisma that I can only dream of. His content and influence reached and affected literal millions for the better. He will be missed dearly. Rest in Peace Totalbiscuit.
